Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy

Support for ADHD, Autism, Giftedness & Learning Differences

Healing Starts Here.

At Michigan Wellbeing, we understand that no two brains are alike—and we believe that therapy should reflect that. Neurodivergent individuals often navigate a world that wasn’t designed with their needs in mind, and that can bring unique challenges. Whether you’re autistic, have ADHD, are gifted, twice-exceptional (2E), or have learning differences, we offer therapy that embraces your strengths, honors your experiences, and provides real, meaningful support to help you thrive.

Many neurodivergent individuals have been misunderstood, forced to mask, or told to “just try harder.” We take a different approach—one that is affirming, supportive, and tailored to how your brain naturally works. Therapy at Michigan Wellbeing isn’t about making you fit into a neurotypical mold; it’s about helping you understand yourself more deeply, develop strategies that actually work for you, and build a life where you feel truly seen and supported.

Neurodiversity is the idea that there is no single “right” way for a brain to function. Instead, human brains exist on a spectrum of cognitive styles and strengths. ADHD, autism, giftedness, and learning differences aren’t disorders to be fixed—they’re natural variations in how people think, feel, and process the world.

At the same time, navigating a world that prioritizes neurotypical ways of thinking can be exhausting, frustrating, and isolating. Many neurodivergent individuals struggle with sensory overload, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and social expectations, leading to feelings of burnout, anxiety, and overwhelm.

We provide therapy that acknowledges these challenges without treating neurodivergence as something to “fix.” Our work is about helping you understand yourself, develop strategies that align with your strengths, and build a life where you can thrive—without masking or trying to be someone you’re not.

What is Neurodiversity?

You don’t have to continue feeling stuck in these patterns. By working with the nervous system, emotions, and relational history, we help you build a more secure, fulfilling way of relating to yourself and others.

Neurodivergent individuals often need therapy that is tailored, flexible, and attuned to their experiences. We offer support that integrates mental health, sensory needs, executive function skills, and relational dynamics into a comprehensive, whole-person approach.
