Empowerment & Connection: A Therapy Group for LGBTQ+ Adults

This therapy group aims to create a nurturing environment where LGBTQ+ adults can share experiences, develop coping strategies, and build meaningful connections. By focusing on empowerment and connection, this group will provide valuable tools for participants to thrive both personally and socially.

Facilitator: Amy Anderson, LLMSW (They/Them)

Target Population: LGBTQ+ adults (ages 18+) seeking a safe, supportive space to explore identity, mental health, and interpersonal connections.

Group Format:

  • Duration: 8-week series (with option for ongoing sessions)

  • Frequency: Weekly, 90-minute sessions

  • Location: Virtual platform via Mi Wellbeing (HIPAA-compliant video conferencing)

  • Start Date: April (Exact Date TBD)

  • Time: TBD based on group’s availability

Purpose and Objectives: The primary goal of this group is to foster a sense of community and empowerment among LGBTQ+ adults by providing a safe environment for self-expression, connection, and growth. Objectives include:

  • Increasing self-awareness & self-acceptance

  • Building healthy coping strategies for stress, anxiety, and depression

  • Strengthening social support networks

  • Developing effective communication and boundary-setting skills

  • Exploring issues related to identity, relationships, and societal pressures

We accept BCBS and Aetna insurance for group therapy. For those paying out of pocket, the cost is $30 per session. If you’d like to attend but are experiencing financial hardship, please reach out!
