Attachment Therapy & Relational Work

Heal Past Wounds. Build Stronger Connections.

Healing Starts Here.

Our earliest relationships shape the way we see ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world. When these early attachments are unpredictable, painful, or lacking emotional safety, they can leave behind patterns that continue to impact relationships in adulthood.

If you find yourself struggling with trust, intimacy, conflict, or emotional regulation in relationships, you’re not alone. Whether you’ve experienced relational trauma, anxious or avoidant attachment patterns, or difficulty forming meaningful connections, healing is possible.

At Michigan Wellbeing, we specialize in attachment-based, relational therapy that helps individuals, couples, and families understand how past relationship patterns shape their present experiences—and how to create healthier, more fulfilling connections moving forward.

How Attachment & Relational Patterns Impact You

  • Difficulty trusting others or fearing abandonment.

  • Feeling “too much” or “not enough” in relationships.

  • Struggles with emotional closeness, intimacy, or vulnerability.

  • Repeating unhealthy relationship patterns, even when you want to break free.

  • Feeling anxious, insecure, or disconnected in relationships.

  • Challenges with setting boundaries or asserting your needs.

  • Relationship burnout, codependency, or people-pleasing tendencies.

  • Carrying pain from childhood relationships with caregivers.

Attachment wounds and relational struggles can show up in many ways:

You don’t have to continue feeling stuck in these patterns. By working with the nervous system, emotions, and relational history, we help you build a more secure, fulfilling way of relating to yourself and others.

Our Approach to Attachment & Relational Healing

At Michigan Wellbeing, we use an integrative, whole-person approach to help you process trauma, regulate your nervous system, and reclaim a sense of safety. Our therapists blend relational, somatic, and evidence-based approaches to ensure healing happens at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

  • Attachment-Based & Psychodynamic Therapy – Exploring how early relationships shape self-perception, emotional needs, and intimacy patterns.

  • Relational Therapy – Healing through the therapeutic relationship itself, building trust, safety, and emotional attunement.

  • Somatic & Polyvagal Therapy – Supporting nervous system regulation to move from survival-based relationship patterns to deeper connection.

  • Mindfulness & Self-Regulation Strategies – Helping you slow down emotional reactions, communicate needs clearly, and deepen self-awareness.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples – A research-backed approach to strengthening connection and repairing relationship wounds.

  • Narrative Therapy & Inner Child Work – Rewriting old relationship narratives and reconnecting with the parts of you that needed care and validation.
